I’m Helen, 36, a born and bread Northern Beaches girl. I left home and the country at 19 and have since travelled to 17 countries, lived in 3, including Israel. I have lived everywhere in Sydney from Burwood to Double Bay.
As a creative soul, most of my work life has been in the entertainment industry. I have spruiked, been a clown, ushered, dressed up in a “LYCRA” green frog suit for 8am at Town Hall, milked cows, been a wig stylist, vintage clothing restorer, made props for film and TV, had an art gallery and created commercial displays. I’ve had my own Vintage Fabrics Boutique, studio warehouse. I’ve been collecting vintage clothing since I was 14 and sewing since I was 8.
Most recently, I have been hosting large fashion events and parades quite successfully to promote Australian Fashion Designers and have been developing my own label “Boutio Studio” (Boutique/Studio) BOO-T-O. A vintage-inspired custom made label specialising in statement pieces for the authentic self.
I am the entrepreneur’s entrepreneur. I market, promote and can sell ice to the eskimos.
……AND…..Why me? I am an interesting person, with a story or two to tell, and the pictures to back it up! I’m the unearthed hidden talent with an abundance of potential, maybe the next big thing. I design and create outstanding and beautiful, individual statement pieces and I have a one-track vision to provide opportunities for myself and new, emerging designers.
